Here's a wee video I forgot to blog about at the time...

I came into the living room one day to find wee slidey-Clydey hiding out in the barrel. I loved seeing him in there. That's what it's for, after all. I called Jason through so that he could start the video with me introducing it and then zoomng round to the barrel. Enjoy.

Sonny & Vito's, yummmmmm

Eilidh, one of my chums at work, told me that she had had a lovely lunch at Sonny & Vito's a couple of weeks ago. Finding myself without a sandwich one day, I decided to pop round for a piece and got myself a hummus sandwich with sweet peppers and pumpkin seeds. On organic bread. Thick cut slices. It was absolutely d-lishus. So I went back for one the next week. And on the second visit, I thought Jason would love this place. I said to him that I would treat him for some Friday lunch when he was off for the Bank Holiday and we went in today.
It didn't disappoint. Jason plumped for Spanish sausage roll with potatoes and salad. An enormous, beautiful salad, lightly dressed with wonderfully toasted croutons. He loved it.
I had my hummus sandwich again with the same side salad. Beautiful food, lovely surroundings. I highly recommend this lovely little deli.
PS We were so stuffed from the big lunch that we took our cakes to go. I had an almond tart and Jason went for carrot cake muffin. We had them tonight just there the now with a cup of tea. My goodness, they were brilliant. In fact, they were so good that they prompted this blogpost. That's how scrummy they were.

Nitid Nicola's Birthday

Nitid Nicola turned 34 last week. Jason got me some wonderful presents, I just love them. M & D got me some VERY useful dollars as did Scottyboy. Thanks folks! They will come in very handy indeed come November. Jason made breakfast in bed (we have that every morning but it was nicer having it with presents to open!) and I opened all my lovely gifts. Michelle and Gregor got me an amazing book full of one piece sewing patterns that have some beautiful garments in it. I can't wait to make the cape! Lorenzo made me a fantastic card with pictures of all the cats in it and Deirdre gave me the most beautiful bunch of roses and lilies. The roses are a deep dark burgundy red colour - the way roses should be! Absolutely gorgeous. I didn't get a birthday card from Jason but instead got this wonderful birthday song. I love it. Love it, love it, love it. I have shown it to everyone. Lorenzo wants his own copy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDL4B9vGtPQ

Last week or so, there was a beautiful full moon

It were a lovely beautiful moon a while ago, I think about 2 weeks or so. It was really clear; you can't really capture it on the camera. While you're looking at it, you're yearning for a telescope.

Danny comes for a wee visit

Awwww, Danny. You shouldn't really have favourites, but it is difficult not to ell you vee this wee guy. He's soooo affectionate. He loves lying on you like a lap dog. And that just warms my cockles. He is also the best climber of all of the cats that we babysit so it's not unusual to find him on top of the kitchen cupboards or in the wardrobe. I found him on the ironing board, for no other reason except that his catnip drops were up there and he was stealing them! It's hard to get angry with him, he's just too handsome. And he's so vocal. Maow, maow. Constantly.
He's coming back for the final time for a two week visit in November. It's the final time because we're getting our own little kittehs in December, woohoo!

The Gay Spaceman

Here's my brother wearing his spacesuit with pride. He loved it. I have yet to hear how he got on at the festival; I told him that I wanted some photos of all of his friends dressed up as well. Watch this space.

Scotland 2 Macedonia 0. Hooray!

It was pure tense. Even-stevens in the first half. We were all over them in the second half though. The first goal was the result of about 4 serious attempts and was a really welcome relief. My camera packed in at half-time so I didn't get any cheery photos but rest assured the pub hoorayed en masse when Scott Brown scored the first goal. A header it was an all. It was magic. We stayed on top of them and McFadden scored a beautiful second. Dribbled past 5 men by my count before slotting it in. Despite being two up, Jason didn't fully relax until well into the second minute of injury time. He told me the tale of Bayern Munich and how back in the 90s they were 1 up to Man U and Man U came back with two goals in injury time. Elation became desolation in approximately 90 seconds. So it was only when the final whistle was blown that he breathed out. Now Holland on Wednesday - that's another matter.

The spacesuit gets sent to London. At last.

I finished the spacesuit last night; it was a good feeling. It looked great and I REALLY hope that it fits Scotty Boy. He'll get it on Monday morning at his work and I know that he will rip it open immediately. In the end, I made a jumpsuit, jacket and a slightly camp sleeveless t-shirt with glow stars stuck on with glue. I didn't know what to do about a helmet so I sent down a pack of foil muffin cases and some extra glow stars that he can use if he wants. I think he could get away with a pair of mirrored aviator shades but time will tell what he ends up wearing.
The back says, "Happy Bestival, You Big Space Bestival Beauty". What the client wants the client gets....
Watch this space to see some photos of the man himself wearing it next week.

Clyde in a tuna huff

So Clyde is a big fan of the tuna chunks that are supposed to be for his sister. Poor Bonnie doesn't get a look in though, and to be honest, she doesn't actually care. She is more than happy with her dry food, her clean water and her occasional wee dish of catmilk. But when the tuna ran out, Clyde had to go back to just having normal cat food and he was not happy. You can see from his protest above. He shoved fluff in his dinner and then hid under the blue chair in a huff!
Hunger soon got the better of him though, he came out, ate round the fluff and came up for a cuddle. Awww. I wish they could talk.

The cats are happy to see me (believe it or not!)

I came back from Michelle's about half one the other night and because Jason was in London, these two had only themselves for company until I came home. They nearly never show affection; normally I am the one going up to them and trying to persuade them to have a wee cuddle with me, but when I came into the bedroom the other night, this is what I found. Awwww. Believe it or not, this slightly offhand stance is actually a massive step forward for these two little kittehs. When I jumped into bed, they lay with me for a good while before going off and playing their wee night games!

Bonnie & Clyde have a slight shoe fetish....

Bonnie is becoming more and more curious. I keep finding her wee face popping out of the most obscure locations! And because she is quite a slight cat, she can squeeze herself into tiny spaces. Here she is merely examining my boots but it wouldn't surprise me to find her head popping out of the leg another time. Clyde comes up at the end and gives his trademark Mee-a. Mee-a. His wee voice is so sweet. He doesn't do a full mioaw.
