Those Flamin' Flaming Lips

The whole world is a Flaming Lips fan, bar me. It's occassionally a lonely existence realising that you're the only human left with any taste in music, but mostly it doesn't feature that much in my life. Then, the other day, Jason put on this song on the ipod in the car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlgsfLkAUVg (I didn't even know I had FL on my ipod - obviously Jason's doing). "What is this rubbish?" was my first question. As well as not being a fan of the Flaming Lips, I have an uncanny ability to spot their efforts a mile off. "It sounds like that U2 song," was my second sentence. At this stage Jason admitted it was FL. Wasn't there also a tale of them getting sued by some guy for stealing that Father/Son song riff that Boyzone covered? Flaming Lips = rubbish thieves.
